Swayam’s association with volunteers dates back to its inception. We believe that it is only when all members of the community are actively involved in ending violence against women, that we can realise our dream of a violence free society. Therefore, we encourage volunteers as a policy, to further our goal of involving as many people as possible in our efforts to end violence against women. Our volunteer base is diverse, from school and college students to professionals from various spheres as well as homemakers. We organise training programmes to orient volunteers to our work and related issues.

Volunteers bring plenty of energy and enthusiasm into our various activities. Besides participating in an experience that teaches and enriches them, they become active spokespersons for social change. We view them as assets of the organization and our partners in creating change.

Some of the regular activities in which volunteers help are organising programmes/events/campaigns, mailings, postering, data entry and documentation, research work, fundraising, managing the Drop-in Centre etc.
